So, another long long gap between posts, but I’ve decided that if I don’t mention it at all, no one will notice.

Anyway, the biggest change I’ve had in the last month or so has been the decision to move my mage from my ‘hardcore-zomg-progression-hard-modes’ guild, to my ‘casual-rp-lols-easymode’ guild where my shammy lives on a separate server.
I just didn’t have the time to raid on both characters to help either guild out as much as I would like, and I felt that my progression guild was suffering more, so I thought the best thing would be for me to leave.
It wasn’t an easy decision - I’ve had some great times on the server, both with my current guild and with other guilds in the past. This was my first server, and I’ve known some of the players there for over 2 and a half years. Fortunately I left an alt or two on the server so I can pop on occasionally and see how my old friends are doing, and give them encouragement to get the server-first Val’nyr
I expected the server transfer to take a few days, but to my surprise it took less than an hour before I got the confirmation email from Blizz - obviously the service wasn’t under any undue strain at the time. Just a word of warning to anyone else transferring - all your character-specific macros, and ui tweaks won’t be carried over. I’m sure theres a way to copy files from your wtf and interface folders, but I’m too lazy to look into it :) Just be warned if you’re heavily into macros you might want to make a backup of those folders and see if you can copy them rather than write all the code out again.
Anyway, the upshot is I’m not in a ‘hardcore’ raiding guild for the first time in 18 months, so I should have more free time, which means the blog should get more regular updates :)
